By car
Beware the way locals drive: racing along the
narrow and bendy roads in the hills.
By bus
Regular, cheap buses between the main centres:
Cagliari,
Sassari,
Alghero,
Nuoro etc. You may end up changing buses (or
trains) in Macomer. Less frequent buses, but
worth persevering for the smaller villages.
By train
Regular trains from the edge of
Alghero to
Sassari and from
Sassari to
Cagliari, although buses are usually quicker.
Change at Macomer for trains or buses to
Nuoro. Less frequent trains on this and other
routes.
In the summer period, twice a week, there's a
small train that travels from Sassari to Tempio and
back. It runs especially for tourists and is highly
recommended

The historical town centre of Alghero is
a precious centre that has preserved its architectural
and urban features and where the Catalan style of
monuments and palaces is still today clear.
We advise you to walk calmly
along it and to enter the streets that will lead you to
discover some picturesque corners.
There are several
interesting palaces as the "Palazzo del Veguer",
"Palazzo Peretti" of the 18th century and a rare example
of Gothic urban architecture of the 16th century as
"Palazzo de Ferrera".
We recommend you to visit
the Cathedral dedicated to St Mary (Duomo)and St Francis
estate, formed by the church, the monastery and the
cloister, a very nice group in Gothic and Renaissance
style.
Moreover it is still
possible to admire the ruins of the Medieval walls, with
their stately towers as the "Esperó Reial Tower",built
in 1364.

Italian island of Sardinia is renowned for its rich history,
colorful handcrafts, and endless miles of undisturbed beaches. Our
tour gives you a chance to discover this Mediterranean jewel that is
too often overlooked by American tourists. Spend 13 days exploring
breathtaking coastal roads, pedaling ancient forests, and hiking to
ruins that predate Roman civilization by more than 1,000 years - all
while enjoying traditional Italian meals and wine. Other highlights
include a two-night stay at a local agriturismo, a visit to an
excavated Roman town, and a shepherds' barbecue, something you won't
find on any other tour to Sardinia |

Learn Italian in Sardinia, Italy - Alghero Language
School Courses
Learn
Italian in Sardinia. Stroll & Speak language school is based
in Alghero, old town, a picturesque, historic seaside resort
in the north-west of Sardinia. It is a small learning center,
where you will find very committed teachers together with a
friendly atmosphere. Other services: book lending library,
first steps in Sardinian cuisine and shopping tour.
"Stroll and Speak" is the easy way to learn Italian. We also
recommend it to those only spending a short stay of five to
seven days in Alghero. Whilst learning Italian, we also try
to enter into the spirit of "little Barcelona" and pick up
what the elderly and genuine Algheresi say in their own
language, too through accompanied tours and outings.
Alghero's agreeable climate, well-preserved historic old
town, white sandy beaches and excellent entertainment
facilities make it extremely popular amongst both the local
people and tourists alike. Alghero offers several
architectonic and historic itineraries together with its
breathtaking views. Tourists can enjoy Alghero walking along
its charming cobblestone lanes, discovering something new
every time.
Courses
Italian classes "al volo" as well as standard courses, total
immersion courses and walking conversation, one-to-one
tuition; Italian for work, groups of max. 4 people. |
